Grand Prix 3, or GP3, is a computer racing simulator by MicroProse, released in 2000 by Hasbro Interactive. The original version of the game features the 1998 Formula One season. Even if it has been left behind in terms of technology by other titles, it is still one of the best Formula One simulation games ever, due mainly to its relatively low system requirements and to its extreme flexibility, allowing users to change it at will even without any programming knowledge.

So, even if the game originally features the 1998 season, you can always have it updated to the current season. Or, if you want, you can have it running older (historic) seasons. Almost everything can be changed: car shapes, car liveries, tracks, pilots, wheels, point attribution rules. With some experience and appropriate tools, you can even change tyre and refueling rules.

Some characteristics, however, are hardcoded in the game and can not be changed. That includes the format of practice sessions and pitstop times.

Another extremely useful feature of the game is the possibility of saving a session anytime you want. You can save the game during a practice, a qualifying or a race, or even between any these sessions. You can restore these sessions later, counting on an almost completely flawless system.

There are different game modes: free practice, single race and championship season.
